Our Story
Brad Scott, a former Captain in the Australian Regular Army and Operations Manager, founded Transmutation Pty Ltd with his wife, now business partner Narelle in 2001. Initially, the company provided transport and project management services for large logistic companies, quickly establishing itself as an industry innovator.
In 2002, Transmutation introduced the first Super B-Double vehicle in Queensland, commencing operations at the Port of Brisbane. This groundbreaking achievement positioned the small independent business ahead of large corporate transport companies, embarking on its journey towards continued creativity, passion and success.
Brad continued as an innovative leader, designing the first set of production line quarantine stands to be used in the Port of Brisbane. These stands increased productivity in the Giant African Snail inspections from 20 containers per inspector per/hr to 100 - increasing efficiency by 400%.
As of 2018, Transmutation redirected themselves to incorporate their extensive business experience, environmental passion, and Brad’s degree in Chemistry. This transformation positioned the company as one of Australia’s emerging sustainability leaders by producing a collection of recycled products manufactured from plastic waste.
Our Business Divisions
To facilitate business growth and specialisation, Transmutation Pty Ltd has expanded into three separate divisions.
Transmutation Retail specialises in premium recycled merchandise produced from plastic bread tags. Brad’s innovation was recognised by leading Australian retailer Country Road, partnering to market a customised line of recycled homewares for environmentally conscious Australian consumers.
Transmutation Resources focuses on creating high quality resin pellets from waste plastics. Our first production partnership with Dulux utilises their powder coating waste, creating a sustainable recycling solution for powder waste material.
Transmutation Recomposition creates unique, high quality, environmentally sound products from recycled resins made from Australian waste materials. Our flagship product, the Bar Chair, is used in concrete construction. Manufactured in South Australia, we’ve also established manufacturing partnerships with SPS in Victoria to expand our production capabilities.
Looking Forward
At Transmutation, our mission is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy by transforming plastic waste into valuable, high-quality products. We believe waste is not a problem to be managed—it’s a resource to be reimagined.
As we look to the future, we’re actively seeking partnerships with forward-thinking companies who share our commitment to sustainability and innovation. Whether through material recovery, product development, or collaborative design, we aim to close the loop on waste and create scalable solutions that reduce environmental impact across industries. With a track record of pioneering breakthroughs and successful partnerships, Transmutation is ready to support the next generation of circular initiatives—turning yesterday’s waste into tomorrow’s solutions.
