Mat - Toothbrush Knot Rug
Toothbrush Rag Knot Rugs (also called Amish Rag Rugs) are made from recycling old bed sheets.
The Amish would cut off the bristle end of the brush and sand it to a point. This gave them a needle to work with to make their rugs. This leads to the understanding of the name “toothbrush rag rug.”
This rug has been handcrafted by a local lady here on the Limestone Coast using the time old tradition of the Toothbrush Rag Knot manufacturing process.
This beautiful Rag rug is a practical addition to enhance any home. By repurposing this old bed linen it’s another creative way to keep used textiles out of landfill.
This rug is 1.6 metre in diameter and is made from 1 x king sized Quilt cover and 1 x single bed sheet.
